About This Spot

Pulling up to Biscuit Barn feels like stepping into a gentle morning ritual cherished by the community. Nestled just across from the Thompson Bridge Kroger in Gainesville, this unassuming spot hums quietly with the soft rhythm of early risers, all drawn by the promise of familiar comfort. The pace is steady but unhurried, with a steady flow of folks swinging through the drive-thru, exchanging warm smiles and simple greetings with the women who have made this place a second home for many.

Inside, or rather from behind the window where orders are taken and handed out, the scents of freshly baked biscuits and savory sausage mingle with the faint sweetness of brewed coffee and just-squeezed orange juice. It’s the kind of morning meal that invites reflection and replenishment—a pause before the day widens out. The warmth here isn’t just from the food but from the genuine care that shapes each interaction.

People come back year after year, often recalling childhood visits or celebrating the steady reliability of this small, unpretentious spot. It’s a place where the basics—like biscuits generously filled with egg and cheese or draped in just-right sausage gravy—are elevated by the sense of tradition and the knowledge that the hands preparing them have done so with love. The sweet tea flows freely, its familiar taste a quiet nod to southern roots and simple pleasures.

For those who know Biscuit Barn, it’s more than a breakfast stop—it’s a comfortable, ongoing conversation between neighbors, fueled by good food and kindness. Mornings here are marked by a certain kind of ease, one that encourages slowing down just enough to savor the moment before the world calls again.

I love the biscuit barn! I enjoyed my visits here as a child, and I still love getting by when I'm in the area. Their prices are great, and I love their biscuits with sausage gravy!

I just moved 10min away from this gem. Food is amazing. Full stop. Their sweet tea is also the best I've ever had. The women running this place are clearly angels. Maddie is cooking up some very fine stuff. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

Biscuit barn is open from 4 AM till 11 AM drive-through only located across the Thompson Bridge Kroger. I went there the first time this morning around 9 o’clock. Got me a small coffee, egg and cheese biscuit and an orange juice. Orange juice was fresh tasted like it was freshly squeezed. I have to try other breakfast variety that they have. I had a breakfast place called Reed’s in Maryville and they’re gone so this is the next local place that I can get breakfast at. Also try Longstreet Café, which is in Gainesville. They serve breakfast lunch and dinner. They’re also good too But since this is really close to my house, I had to get me some breakfast this morning and they’re really good come by and give them a try. I think I spent around eight dollars for everything.

Ordered the bacon, egg, and cheese biscuit also! All three were delicious!! The food tastes like homemade cooking! People were kind and efficient!

First time ever making it here even though we’re just down the way. Loved the biscuits. Not a lot of space in the drive thru, it backs up, but someone noticed the line and came out to take orders at the car to help move things along. It’s quintessential southern small town hole in the wall charm with a building that almost looks like it shouldn’t be standing but delivers great food.

Grew up eating biscuit barn. Makes me feel proud to be from around here. I always loved showing people my favorite breakfast spot and it still brings back memories of my dad leaving me a biscuit in our microwave for me to wake up to on the weekends. My granddad, back when he could drive, would come up to hickory pig (their other restaurant in the same building) and get a cup of pulled pork with no sauce just about every single day. These are good people that run these shops and they make damn good food. A lot has changed around this area since I was little, but biscuit barn has stayed the same good prices, good people, and good food ever since. It's not for everyone but my favorite meal is a fried spam biscuit, a butter biscuit, and an oj. Sometimes I'll get me a pb&j biscuit or even a chicken biscuit and put some peanut butter on it. Nothing makes me feel as good as opening up that paper sack and pulling out a fresh hot biscuit in the morning. No matter what you fill it with, or even if you like it plain, I hope you'll come give this place a try and maybe it'll become part of your lifelong memories too. Maybe nostalgia has something to do with it but no matter what city, state, or country I'm in... I aint never had a biscuit make me smile as big or feel as good as one from the biscuit barn.
